Open and install Cutscene

1. Open Cutscene from this website in Chrome or Edge.
2. Press Install at the top of Cutscene, or the install icon in the address bar.
3. From then on, open it from your Start menu, Dock, Chromebook launcher or desktop. After you've opened it once online, it works offline.

Unlock exporting

Editing is free. The first time you press Export, paste the licence key from your purchase email and press Unlock. You need to be online for this once.

Make your first video

1. Drop your clips, photos, voice recording and music onto the start screen.
2. Check that Cutscene sorted your files correctly. Click Voice or Music to fix one.
3. Pick a style. Point at each one to watch your footage in it; press and hold to see it big.
4. Change anything on the timeline, then press Export.

Add a script for better matching

Paste your script on the check step. Cutscene places each clip at the line whose words match the clip's name or description, and turns the script into captions. Describe each clip in Media (for example "boss fight") to help it match.

Export for YouTube or Shorts

In Simple mode, press Export and choose YouTube, Shorts or a small file. The Shorts choice always makes a vertical 1080×1920 video and reframes your edit to fit. In Pro mode, Export opens the full settings.

Move to a new computer

Your licence covers . To move it, email us your licence key and we'll free up a spot.

Lost your licence key?

Search your email for "Cutscene" or "Lemon Squeezy" (their email calls it a "license key"). You can also find it at app.lemonsqueezy.com/my-orders. Still can't find it? Email us from the address you paid with and we'll resend it.
